Reidsville, North Carolina – March 17, 2014 - Liquip (( http://www.liquip.us ) has successfully completed Phase 1 of its investment in upgrading its North Carolina manufacturing facility. This investment has resulted in the firm being able to reduce lead times and offer a broader range of refueling solutions for global aviation operators.
The first test of the upgrades was the industry’s largest order in 2013 consisting of a mix of forty nine aviation refueler modules and hydrant carts for Pertamina, the national oil company in Indonesia.
"Our investment in lean operations and one piece flow was tested, and proved effective in delivering the extremely time-compressed Pertamina order on time” said Jon Deline, President of Liquip. “Prior to making our investments, an order of this size would have really strained our capabilities. Our expanded capacity and improved workflow enables Liquip to produce more products with a greater consistency in quality. The use of visual management in each cell has empowered all of our workers and enabled rapid identification of any issue that might impact quality or on time delivery.”
Olen Bennett, strategic sourcing manager, Delta Air Lines, complimented Liqup’s execution, stating “ Liquip delivered on time, on budget, with reliability and excellent training and support. Delivering against an extremely aggressive delivery plan was essential to the success of Delta's recent operational expansion at Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport”.
