EVENDALE, OHIO – February 13, 2014 – Aerolíneas Argentinas ordered GE’s CF6-80E1 engines to power its four new Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

GE's CF6 engines are among the most utilized and reliable in the industry. Powering more than 10 models of wide-body aircraft, the engine family has established an unparalleled record of reliability and has compiled more than 390 million flight-hours in service with more than 200 customers worldwide.
Over the last decade, GE has seen an increase in engine time on wing for the CF6-80E1 engine, which has helped the engine establish the lowest operating and maintenance costs compared to other A330 engine options. In 2012, GE Aviation refined component efficiencies across the CF6-80E1 engine to provide up to a one percent improvement in fuel efficiency for Airbus's enhanced A330 aircraft. The enhancements to the engine and aircraft will allow for an increased payload, greater range and lower operating costs on the CF6-80E1 engine. The enhancements will become the production standard for all new CF6-80E1 engines, with current operators having the option to incorporate many of these enhancements at engine overhaul. More than 550 CF6-80E1 engines have been delivered for the Airbus A330 aircraft.
