SAVANNAH, Ga., February 11, 2014 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently delivered the 100th Gulfstream aircraft equipped with the company’s state-of-the-art cabin management system. The Gulfstream-controlled and -designed equipment, known as the Gulfstream Cabin Management System (GCMS), is standard on Gulfstream G650 and G280 aircraft and is part of
the Elite Interior option for the G550 and G450. The 100th customer delivery was a G650.

GCMS works in conjunction with the Gulfstream Cabin Control app to provide seamless digital control of the aircraft cabin’s systems. Using an off-the-shelf smart device such as an iPod touch® or iPhone®, passengers can adjust the lighting, temperature, audio/video, flight information (CabinView) and attendant call for their specific seat on the jet.

“We’re excited to reach this milestone because it reflects the appeal of the Gulfstream Cabin Management System to customers,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream. “We took a novel approach to designing this system, and the response has been incredible. With the intuitive menus and screens, passengers can easily design a cabin environment that meets their requirements for that particular flight.”

GCMS adheres to Gulfstream’s Cabin Essential Design philosophy, which means functionality isn’t impacted by a single point of failure. Additionally, the Gulfstream-owned design makes software changes easier, faster and less expensive for customers. The system has a dedicated support team consisting of a project manager, engineers and Technical Operations specialists,
as well as procurement and quality professionals that act as a turnkey supplier to Gulfstream.

Gulfstream initially introduced GCMS on the G650 and later, the G280, the company’s two newest aircraft. Elements of the G650 interior were later incorporated into an Elite Interior option for Gulfstream’s large-cabin aircraft, the G550 and G450.

The GCMS app allows customers to have one simple handheld device that works across an entire fleet of Gulfstream products with different interior systems and options.
