Recent acquisitions of Bombardier commercial aircraft in the region include an order from Nok Air of Thailand for two Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners, options for an additional two, as well as purchase rights on four others. With that order, Bombardier also confirmed that Nok Air will be the launch customer for a new extra capacity seating option, which will allow the Q400 NextGen aircraft to accommodate up to 86 passengers. Garuda Indonesia became the launch customer for the CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region with its order for six of the aircraft. The Indonesian flag carrier also intends to operate 12 additional CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft through a third-party lease agreement and holds options on 18 more aircraft of the same type. Some 12 of these CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft are already in service with Garuda.
