CHARLESTON, SC (January 2014) – Departure Media Airport Advertising has been awarded the outdoor advertising contract with the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). The partnership creates new opportunities for businesses in PIT to increase brand awareness, such as skybridge billboards spanning four lanes of traffic, glass graphics, and column wraps located in new areas reaching local passengers as they drive by the terminal. In addition, a new Digital program will play 5-second commercials on monitors throughout the terminal.
A recent installation features a well-recognized Pittsburgh business, Orr’s Jewelers. Providing the Western Pennsylvania region with service for more than 50 years, Orr’s Jewelers was approached to be the first outdoor advertiser at PIT based on their long-standing reputation within the community.

“In exploring the advertising options at PIT, the airport realized there were opportunities outside that were not being utilized to their full potential,” said Leslie Bensen, Chief Executive Officer with Departure Media Airport Advertising. “We are offering local businesses new opportunities that are unique to the Pittsburgh community; utilizing this outdoor space will benefit both the businesses in the Pittsburgh area, as well as the airport.”
The Pittsburgh International Airport sees approximately 8 million travelers pass through its doors on an annual basis. In taking advantage of the outdoor advertising spaces, businesses will have the opportunity to increase brand awareness to the high-volume of locals using the airport.
