This seminar will include a hands-on workshop and a live demonstration of Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC). The purpose of the workshop is to provide hands on experience using the equipment that meets the North Atlantic FANS 1/A Mandates and European Mandate for LINK 2000+ requirements. The NextGen topics also covered will include ADS-B, ADS-C, FANS 1/A benefits which are improved communications, reduced separation between aircraft, and more direct routings. Charlie Carroll, Regional Sales Manager, Universal Avionics will be presenting Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and Area Navigation (RNAV) Operations and worldwide requirements. He will also provide updates on the benefits of satellite based augmentation systems including performance based navigation, WAAS, and LPV approaches.
