Cenco Awarded Contract for a New Aero-engine Test Cell and Facility for Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries

The new facility, planned to be operational by July 2016, will position SAEI as one of the limited elite companies in the world with this capability.

Cenco (Safran) specializing in the design and manufacturing of engine test facilities announced today a contract with Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) for the turnkey construction project of a new 14 meter test cell facility in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  This contract furthers the long-standing relationship between the two companies.

The new facility will enable SAEI to test GE90-94/115 engines as well as all the current engine programs such as CFM56-5B / 7B, CF34-8E / 10E, CF6-80C2D1F, B5F and V2500-D5 and provides growth for future engine programs such as Rolls-Royce Trent 700/900/1000, and GE Aviation GEnx-1B / 2B.
