Paris, Amstelveen, 10 January 2014 - Arjan Meijer has been appointed Managing Director of KLM UK Engineering Limited, a KLM subsidiary operating within the AFI KLM E&M network and specializing in maintenance solutions for regional and narrow-body aircraft fleets.

Arjan Meijer has a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology and a strong track record in the aviation sector. He also holds an Executive MBA (International Master's in Management). He started out during a graduation internship in the KLM Corporate Fleet Development department. After a stint at KPN, he returned to KLM in 2001 as Fleet Evaluation Manager, before being appointed in 2007 as head of Quality Assurance & Project Management at KLM Fleet Services. Subsequently, he moved to KLM Cityhopper as head of Fleet Management & Engineering. From October 2010, he was KLM Cityhopper VP Technical Services & Fleet Development (Technical Director).

On learning of his appointment, Arjan Meijer said: "I am very proud to be appointed Managing Director of KLM UK Engineering Limited. I hope that the knowledge acquired in my previous functions - and in particular that of Technical Director at KLM Cityhopper - will have a positive impact on KLM UK and its clients. Because the quality and predictability of an MRO services provider are extremely important factors for an airline, I shall strive to continue the efforts made by Paul Chün to continuously improve our performance and adapt our services to the expectations of our clients. KLM UK Engineering Limited is an outstanding company, with extensive experience and know-how in regional fleet maintenance, ranging from Fokker to Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. My main objective is to consolidate and develop the company's market presence."
