VERO BEACH, Fla. - Dec. 23, 2013 - During 2013 Piper Aircraft Inc. broadened its global footprint through the addition of international dealers, completed transformation of its entire aircraft product line to advanced Garmin avionics, and grew sales of pilot training aircraft around the world. Additionally, Piper Aircraft sustained solid new aircraft deliveries and revenue performance through the third quarter resulting in a 9% increase over the same period last year. Given the pace of aircraft deliveries during the fourth quarter, Piper expects to end the year with an increase in aircraft deliveries over 2012.
"Piper's ability to level-load aircraft production has allowed us to meet solid financial growth and performance goals while expanding our worldwide sales visibility and efforts, especially in the pilot training realm," said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott. "In addition, during 2013, we successfully completed the transition to an advanced all-Garmin avionics product line."
"We plan to establish a presence in every country of the world where the economy will benefit from our economical line of M-Class, Twin-Class and Trainer Class aircraft," Caldecott said. "With the exploding need for new pilots in the Asia-Pacific region, Piper Aircraft is positioned to take full advantage of the ability of our single and twin-engine training aircraft to fulfill important pilot training requirements."
Piper's new aircraft revenue and deliveries during 2013 will be announced in early 2014.
