December 2013 – Chicago, Illinois -- Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), the leading provider of hourly cost maintenance programs for the business aviation industry, recently reported it has organized an employee donation match initiative for the recent tornado victims in nearby central Illinois as they continue to expand the JSSI community enrichment program.
JSSI will match employee donations to the American Red Cross that will help provide needed supplies, food and lodging and ultimately community restoration for the victims of the devastating tornados and storms that ripped through central Illinois on November 17th. To date, JSSI has raised approximately $25,000.00.
“As an Illinois headquartered company, it is our obligation to give back to the community that has given so much to us. The loss of life and property was absolutely devastating, with entire communities destroyed,” commented Neil Book, President and CEO for JSSI. “We hope that our contribution will help in some small, but meaningful way.”
As part of its community enrichment program, JSSI recently introduced a unique option for its employees to give back to their local communities over the next year as Frank Hattula, PHR, Director of Human Resources for JSSI explains, “We wanted to make a concerted effort this year to be involved in supporting our local communities. Since many of our employees are based around the world, we are allocating one work day per employee to volunteer at a charity of their choice. This way, our team members can choose an organization about which they are passionate and know they have JSSI’s support as well, receiving some time away from work to give back to a cause that they believe in,” added Hattula.
In addition, the recent typhoon catastrophe in the Philippines prompted the JSSI team to organize fund raising efforts within the company to support the relief efforts that are in progress. Thousands of dollars are being collected from employees worldwide and will be pooled together as a donation to the Red Cross for the people in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

JSSI management began their commitment by purchasing 20,000 lbs of critical supplies last weekend and assisted the CARE volunteers with loading and preparing the donated aircraft for departure.
