5 December 2013: Snap-on Industrial, a global tooling and workshop equipment solutions specialist has continued to enjoy exceptional growth in 2013. The Kettering-based division of Snap-on UK Holdings Ltd. has seen strong performance across a number of specific industry sectors, including aerospace (37%), rail (34%), and general industry (63%). The company has doubled its turnover over the past three years.
Education has also created a lot of opportunities, with interest in apprenticeships and vocational training driving demand for the best tools and workshop equipment. The addition of Solihull College’s new motor vehicle facility in September to Snap-on Industrial’s portfolio of educational customers has increased the company’s Excellence in Education programme to include in excess of 200 UK colleges and training establishments.
Ian Brook, Managing Director at Snap-on Industrial, said: “The economy has been tough over the last couple of years but Snap-on Industrial has bucked the trend and continued to enjoy strong growth.
“Primarily our 50% rise in turnover over the past 3 years has been achieved by providing our customers with strategic advantages; addressing the challenge of increased profitability through reduced downtime and increased productivity and cost control. We’ve also expanded our team and recruited skilled personnel and continued to develop innovative new products and programmes that add value for the customer.”
He continued, “We see 2014 as another strong growth opportunity, with greater confidence in manufacturing and where service industries will continue to provide a raft of opportunity for us to demonstrate the tangible benefits of our products and programmes. These will maximise lean operations, promote best practice and help us connect with customers to offer cost effective solutions. The uplift in the economy has resulted in an expansion of the UK supply chain with demand from industry looking to invest in its businesses. This offers us a huge opportunity to continue to expand across specific industry sectors. ”
Last month, Snap-on Industrial partnered with Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), the independent aircraft maintenance provider and division of The Monarch Group. The partnership saw the replacement of all MAEL engineers personal tooling at its new maintenance facility at Birmingham Airport with Snap-on Industrial’s world leading Level 5 tool control system, driving further efficiency and enhancing safety.
Snap-on Industrial’s success has also been attributed to its standing as the business partner of choice for many of the UK’s best known companies.
