The two companies recently signed a five-year agreement for using the paper-based and electronic navigation charts and the flight planning solution.

The carrier SunExpress and its subsidiary SunExpress Deutschland will continue to fly with Lido/Flight flight planning solution and Lido/RouteManual and Lido/eRouteManual from Lufthansa Systems. The two companies recently signed a five-year agreement for using the paper-based and electronic navigation charts and the flight planning solution.

Thanks to its cutting-edge technology, Lido/Flight covers all aspects of flight planning and provides dispatchers with many optimization options regarding flight time, fuel consumption or costs of each flight. Taking into account the latest flight-related data such as weather conditions, total weight and the availability of airways, Lido/Flight calculates the most suitable route for each flight from all available options. This can lead to fuel savings of up to five percent. Lido/RouteManual and Lido/eRouteManual include charts for take-off and landing procedures as well as airport and route charts. These charts are generated directly from the Lido navigation database, which contains worldwide aeronautical information and topographical data. Layout, colors and symbols are identical in the charts' paper and electronic versions, making it easier for pilots to migrate to Lido/eRouteManual. One benefit of electronic charts is that they can be updated more quickly and easily than paper charts, since updated charts no longer need to be printed out and distributed to each cockpit. Cockpit crews can also determine the level of detail presented by the charts.
