Jet Aviation Appoints Vice President And General Manager For Dubai Operations

Hardy Bütschi will oversee MRO and FBO operations at Al Maktoum International Airport, as well as at Al Bateen Executive Airport.

ZURICH / Switzerland, Nov. 21, 2013 – Jet Aviation announces the appointment of Hardy Bütschi as the new vice president and general manager of the company’s maintenance and FBO operations in Dubai, effective January 2014.

In his new role as vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Dubai, Bütschi is responsible for overseeing the company’s maintenance and FBO operations at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central’s Al Maktoum International Airport, as well as at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Previously, Bütschi oversaw the company’s operations in Saudi Arabia as vice president of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia. He will continue to report to Stefan Benz, vice president of MRO and FBO Operations in
EMEA & Asia. The company plans to announce a successor for Bütschi in Saudi Arabia in the near future.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the aviation industry and almost 10 years with Jet Aviation, Bütschi has considerable experience in sales and marketing, customer support and facility management. He joined Jet Aviation Geneva in 2004 as director of sales and deputy director of customer support, transferring to Jet Aviation Dubai in 2007 to help promote the company’s services throughout the Middle East region. When the company opened its new facility in Jeddah in 2011, Bütschi was appointed vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia, where he successfully secured the GACA bid for the company’s FBO & hangar facilities in Riyadh and further expanded operations to Prince Mohammad Airport in Medina in 2012. He holds a master’s of science degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.

Jet Aviation Dubai’s maintenance and FBO location was established in May 2005 as a joint venture company with the AL Mulla Group. The facility has a total of 4,200 square meters (45,192 square feet) of hangar space, a workshop area of 1,000 square meters (10,760 square feet), and a two-story FBO building with an area of 1,050 square meters (11,300 square feet). The facility holds EASA #145.0317 maintenance approval and is an FAA #U8JY426Y repair station. It also holds Bermuda DCA, Cayman CAA, Jordan CARC, Saudi Arabia GACA, Pakistan CAA, India DGCA and UAE GCAA approvals. Jet Aviation Dubai is an authorized service center for maintenance and warranty support to Boeing BBJ, the Gulfstream G150, G200, GIV and GV, G550 and G650 series, the Dassault Falcon 900, 2000 and 7X series, and full service capability for Hawker Beechcraft 800/900 series and Embraer Legacy aircraft, including L4 and L12 inspections. The company expanded its VIP handling service delivery to Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central (DWC) in December 2012.
