DOHA, Qatar, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Airport Exchange, Stand #111. Searidge Technologies, provider of intelligent video solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced that the Port of Oakland has invested in their ATC-Grade Video System for Oakland International Airport (OAK). The system will provide the airport with enhanced situational awareness.
ATC-grade video augments the operators view, making visually obstructed and geographically remote areas easier to see. The implementation of the system immediately benefits airports, optimizing operators' situational awareness and confidence while improving safety and efficiency of daily surface operations.
"Searidge's innovative video and surface management solutions will provide immediate benefits to OAK," said Deborah Ale Flint, Director of Aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates OAK. "The Searidge video technology platform provides a decision support tool that will enhance our view of the airport's surface."
The Searidge ATC-Grade Video system intuitively consolidates multiple camera scenes to provide controllers with a seamless, real-time view of a particular area of interest. Using visible cameras with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) functionality helps operators have a clear perception of ground traffic enabling them to make critical decisions quickly. The system also provides several safety and reliability features including the proven fail-safe software platform, redundant architecture, and video archiving for incident review.
"We look forward to working with the Port of Oakland and are confident that ATC-Grade Video will address their needs," says Alex Sauriol, Vice President, ATM/Airport Technology, Searidge Technologies. "They have invested in a commercially proven solution that is in use by ANSPs and airports on three continents today. These systems are replacing or augmenting the operators' out-the-window (OTW) view with video from cameras deployed parallel to each other and stitched together to provide a single panoramic view of the area."
