CAPACG, LLC Invited To Partner With FAA's PEGASAS

The Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility and Sustainability (PEGASAS). PEGASAS is the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) new Center of Excellence for General Aviation.

November 5, 2013 -- Daytona Beach, FL -- CAPACG, provider of aviation Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) solutions, ISBAO Auditing, and Safety Management Systems consulting announced today that it is becoming an industry partner with the Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility and Sustainability (PEGASAS).  PEGASAS is the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) new Center of Excellence for General Aviation.

“The mission of PEGASAS is to enhance general aviation safety, accessibility, and sustainability by creating a national network of world-class researchers, educators and industry leaders.  Through unique approaches to research, education, and outreach, PEGASAS focuses on increasing safety by mitigating the risk facing general aviation pilots, passengers, and property,” explained Jonathan “JJ” Greenway, Director of Business Development for CAPACG, LLC. “With CAPACG’s expertise in development and deployment of flight data monitoring and safety systems for general aviation, we are uniquely positioned to participate in this important partnership,” he added.

PEGASAS has established an extended network of relevant state and local general aviation-related organizations and industry affiliates. The affiliates extend from local to multi-national organizations ranging across the aviation industry’s broad spectrum: from suppliers to manufacturers, from professional organizations to airports and government agencies. Representatives of these stakeholders serve on the PEGASAS Advisory Board, meeting with PEGASAS leadership regularly to provide feedback on research, education and outreach projects.

“The university members of PEGASAS look forward to working with CAPACG in a number of ways,” said Bill Crossley, Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University and the Director for PEGASAS.  “Several of our research projects will involve using flight data monitoring and safety management systems to help the FAA improve the safety of general aviation.  CAPACG’s capabilities make them an excellent industry partner for PEGASAS.”

PEGASAS is comprised of world-renowned universities and institutes with top-tier aviation programs as well as highly respected schools of engineering, science and policy. Led by Purdue University, The Ohio State University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, the core team also will include the Florida Institute of Technology, Iowa State University and Texas A&M University.  Affiliate members include: Arizona State University, Florida A&M, Hampton University, Kent State University, North Carolina A&T State University, Oklahoma State University, Southern Illinois University (Carbondale), Tufts University, Western Michigan University and University of Minnesota, Duluth.
