Oct. 30, 2013
It has signed an agreement with Michael Mackonochie, founder of US Based aviation business Elite Flying, to be its General Sales Agent for the North Americas covering the USA, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Following hard on the heels of this year’s NBAA the aviation fuel and associated services provider iFuel has signed an agreement with Michael Mackonochie, founder of US Based aviation business Elite Flying, to be its General Sales Agent for the North Americas covering the USA, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The contract will see Mackonochie using the resources already established by iFuel to support the provision of competitive fuel to the North Americas business aviation market. It is anticipated that savings of up to 25% will be available for clients utilising the iFuel services around the world.

iFuel selected Mackonochie to act as its representative owing to his extensive network of aviation contacts in the Americas. As a charter brokerage Elite Flying markets a number of aircraft (including a Boeing BBJ, Gulfstream G550, Gulfstream G450, GIII and a Learjet 60) to a high net worth audience, provides full charter brokerage services with access to a large operator network, and offers aviation consulting services, so is well positioned to significantly expand the iFuel footprint in the North Americas.

“Its an exciting time for iFuel as it approaches its first year of operations and I’m anticipating that with the North America’s signing we’ll be able to quickly develop a client base that utilises the services internationally,” says Mackonochie. “Initially I’ll be focusing on promoting the fuel sales but see this as a platform for developing future products in conjunction with the team. There is a lot of potential from this region.”

iFuel was formed just under a year ago by a London-based charter broker Open Aero, fuel supplier Jet Aero Fuels (JAF) and Switzerland-based 28 East Group.  By maximising the network of relationships of partner Jet Aero Fuels, iFuel has already built a successful presence in the Russian and CIS market and is now setting its sights on international expansion with the Americas being the first of anticipated further markets including Africa and Asia.

“We’re extremely well established in the Russian and CIS market but understand we must capitalise on the international nature of business aviation. The North Americas is still an incredibly important market in business aviation so it was a logical next step to appoint an enthusiastic professional to join the iFuel business. We know Michael has an impressive contact database and look forward to supporting the expansion of the North American business,” added Rinad El-Rabaa, President of iFuel.
