OCTOBER 24, 2013 / BUSINESS AVIATION NEWS / With 14 premier FBOs located across Georgia, New York and Florida, Sheltair is a leader in full-service, executive aviation-services. Now Sheltair has joined Avfuel’s branded FBO network: all Sheltair locations will offer AVTRIP points and Avfuel Contract Fuel, as well as utilize Avfuel’s processing, operational and training systems.
The partnership is beneficial to all, said Avfuel’s Vice President of Sales Joel Hirst: “It raises visibility for Sheltair and also broadens the availability of Avfuel programs and systems. Sheltair is a progressive, stable partner that we are proud to have onboard.”
According to Sheltair’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris Rollins, Sheltair worked with several potential partners to assemble the best overall package to bring the greatest value to the Sheltair network and its customers. “The Sheltair team felt that Avfuel delivered all of the components we were looking for and together with Sheltair’s strengths brought the greatest value to our customers,” said Rollins. “Both Sheltair and Avfuel are keenly focused on delivering superior customer service. This aligned goal makes Avfuel the right choice as we grow the Sheltair network.”
Sheltair was founded as a construction business by current CEO Jerry Holland in 1963. Its first FBOs opened in 1988. Sheltair today is a multi-state company that, in addition to its building and leasing operations, boasts 14 full-service FBOs. Indeed, Sheltair has the largest privately owned group of FBOs in Florida, and its facilities can be found at 20 airports throughout Florida, Georgia and New York. The name “Sheltair” echoes the idea of “shelter for aircraft.”
“Like Sheltair, Avfuel also had modest beginnings in general aviation, and also achieved a rapid and stable rise to success,” said Avfuel Vice President of Marketing, Marci Ammerman. “I think Sheltair and Avfuel have the same commitment to service and passion for aviation.
The partnership comes just in time for the 2014 Super Bowl, to be held in New York. With five locations in the area - JFK, LGA, ISP, FRG and FOK - Sheltair is ideally poised to serve those inbound for Game Day. Sheltair’s New York locations will hold special events, award bonus AVTRIP points, and offer ways to save on handling fees for game-day related travel. Avfuel plans to contribute to Sheltair’s existing promotions with AVTRIP points, giveaways and more. In addition to convenient proximity, Sheltair offers state-of-the-art ramp and weather readiness capabilities, premier service, VIP handling, and ramp and hangar availability.
“Anyone who wants to learn more about our Super Bowl offerings and events should stop by booth #N5100 at NBAA,” said Sheltair Director of Marketing Jen Colon. “Game Day is approaching quickly, and we encourage aviators to make their reservations at a New York-based Sheltair FBO today.” For more information and updates, visit sheltairaviation.com.
