(Saint-Cloud, France October 16, 2013): Dassault Aviation has named Frédéric Leboeuf Vice President, Falcon Operational Support. He replaces Gérard Dailloux, who retired after serving with the company for almost 30 years.
The Falcon Operational Support Department oversees all aspects of flight operations, assisting operators before, during and after delivery of their new aircraft. The department provides flight preparation support and assistance with regulatory matters, performance, procedures and other operational issues. It also briefs and trains pilots to smooth aircraft entry into service, prepares changes in pilot documentation and develops performance tools aimed at enhancing Falcon operational efficiency and safety.
Additionally, they define Falcon training policy, audit and supervise training providers and gather operator feedback on Falcon operation for the design office.
The department is staffed by eight experienced pilots and 20 engineers with extensive knowledge of Falcon engineering, regulatory and training issues. The technical assistance it provides is particularly valuable to the growing number of Dassault operators who are newcomers to business aviation.
Leboeuf is based in Dassault Aviation’s Saint-Cloud, France headquarters and reports to Olivier Villa, Senior Vice President, Civil Aircraft at Dassault Aviation. He joined Dassault in 2002, working first on the Mirage 2000-9 and Mirage 2000-5 programs and subsequently as a technical support team manager serving the Mirage 2000 export effort.
A graduate of the French Naval Academy, Leboeuf served 20 years in the French Navy before entering private industry. His naval responsibilities ranged from Atlantic and Atlantique 2 flight operations and Falcon 200 Gardian squadron command duty to supervising maritime patrol crew training. He also served a long stint on the general staff, where he oversaw the Atlantique 2 and Falcon 50 maritime surveillance aircraft programs. Frédéric flew a wide range of other aircraft as well, including the Falcon 10, Alpha Jet and Etendard IV.
“His extensive flying experience with the Navy and long career in the Dassault design office provided Frédéric with a broad understanding of technical and operational issues and a deep appreciation of customer expectations in the product support area,” said Villa. “These qualities will make him an excellent replacement for Gérard and help the Falcon operational support team continue to elevate the quality of the service it provides in accordance with its motto ‘fly like you train, train like you fly.’”
