Jet Aviation Basel readies for Boeing 787 VVIP interior completions

BASEL, Switzerland / September 19, 2013 – Jet Aviation Basel readies for Boeing 787 VIP interior completions, designing solutions unique to the complex 787 airframe and completing training of licensed technicians to maintain and support the aircraft at its Basel facility.

Jet Aviation Basel has sent a team of Part 145 licensed engineers from its completions center to receive EASA Part 66 B1/B2 type training on the B787 at Boeing’s facilities in Seattle. The company will now apply for approval from the authorities to add the B787 to its capability list.

We have heavily invested in the new technologies of the Boeing 787 to master their impacts on the completions process for VVIP aircraft and will continue to devote resources to the ongoing professional development of our employees.”

Jet Aviation engineers have already completed an advanced structural repairs training course provided by Boeing for B787 aircraft. Jet Aviation Basel is a world-renowned completions and maintenance center employing more than 1,600 professionals. The facility has in-house design and engineering departments, along with on-site cabinetry, upholstery, fiberglass and paint shops. The organization is capable of outfitting jets as large as an Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747-8 series and has already completed numerous Airbus 319ACJ, A320, A330, A340 and Boeing B737, B757, B767 and B747-400 aircraft. Jet Aviation Basel also provides aircraft maintenance and repair services to a wide variety of business jets. It is a factory approved service center by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault and Gulfstream. The location also holds a jet aircraft repair station rating by the FAA #QV1Y440K, and the EASA #CH.145.0232 in addition to approval certificates from close to 20 other national aviation authorities.
