September 17, 2013, Orlando, FL – AirIT, the leading provider of innovative information technology products and services to the air transportation industry, today announced it has been awarded a contract to provide its C (Extended Airline System Environment) virtualized passenger processing platform at more than 50 ticket counter and gate positions at San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) in Puerto Rico. AirIT will also provide its Airport Operational Database (AODB), Resource Management System (RMS), and Flight Information Display System (FIDS) technology to deliver the advanced platform that tightly integrates operational and passenger processing solutions.
Aerostar Airport Holdings, LLC is the privately held company that operates and manages the Luis Munoz International Airport through a public-private partnership on behalf of the Puerto Rico Ports Authority. Aerostar has a 40-year lease to manage and upgrade SJU, including the investment of $1.4 billion in capital improvements over the course of the lease.
