MIDDLETOWN, Del. – Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, recently hosted Delaware’s United States Senator Tom Carper at its facility.

Senator Carper’s tour of the facilities focused primarily on the rotorcraft and fixed wing types of aircraft that Summit has modified specifically for Custom and Border Patrol as well as law enforcement missions.

“It was a pleasure to have Senator Carper visit our facility and familiarize him with our capabilities as well as meet our staff,” said Summit Aviation’s General Manager Ralph Kunz.  “We provided the Senator with a glimpse of how we have been able to install our Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance technology into the Mahindra Aerospace GippsAero GA8 Airvan Astra aircraft. It is an ideal low cost technical solution for the Border Patrol.”

“The role of government is to create a nurturing environment for jobs and job creation, which is why I visit companies like Summit Aviation when I’m back in Delaware,” said Sen. Carper. “Summit Aviation provides high-tech jobs to Delaware’s world-class workforce, while continuing to innovate in the aviation industry. That’s a win-win for Delaware’s economy.”

Summit has modified three Sikorsky S-76 helicopters thus far for the Custom and Border Patrol.
