New Food & Beverage outlets at St. Petersburg Pulkovo International Airport contribute to growth strategy in emerging economies

HMSHost, a world leader in operating food and beverage concessions in airports, have entered in an agreement with St. Petersburg Pulkovo International Airport together with two local partners, the Novikov Group and Ginza Project. Pulkovo Airport is anticipated to grow to become the largest airport in the Baltic region, serving an estimated 17 million passengers annually by 2020 and serving as one of Europe’s leading airports. HMSHost is delighted to provide travellers with a flavourful variety of foodservice facilities that gives them an experience that is authentic as well as delicious.

Kamchatka is an all-day restaurant developed by Russia’s highly acclaimed chef Arkadi Novikov. Local menu favourites, including open faced sandwiches with caviar or salmon, sweet and savoury blinis, local gourmet sausages and a selection of fine meats and seafood from the grill are served in an ambiance that is reminiscent of the original Soviet pubs of the 70s and 80s.

Providing a unique opportunity for travellers to recharge and refresh in a vibrant setting, Ice Bar is a contemporary café and bar concept inspired by the lounge atmosphere and vibe of great metropolitan bars. Signature drinks, cocktails and ice-cold beer are offered in the evening. The morning menu offers espresso and healthy breakfast selections of pastries, parfaits and fruit salads, while the afternoon and evening promise an assortment of fresh salads, grilled panini and other savoury snacks.

Passengers are welcome at one of the two Puro Gusto outlets, which offer a line of products ranging from sandwiches and savoury snacks to fresh cakes and traditional Italian desserts. A leading international coffee brand and the authentic O’Reilly’s Irish Pubcomplete the food and beverage offer at Pulkovo International Airport.

Eugeniy Ilyin, Chief Commercial Officer, Northern Capital Gateway LLC, the operator of Pulkovo Airport: “We are pleased to welcome HMSHost and its well-known local partners, the Novikov Group and Ginza Project, who will bring a world-class dining experience in the new passenger terminal of Pulkovo Airport. Food & beverage is very important part of our non-aviation business and introduction of famous international and local brands will be another important step to providing millions of travelers with a wide range of retail and dining concepts in the new terminal and also to increase airport’s revenues.”

“This contract enables us to enter in Russia, one of the most promising emerging countries. We have been actively seeking new opportunities in emerging markets and together with our local partners, the Novikov Group and Ginza Project. We are very excited in bringing the expertise of the world’s leading food & beverage operator to Russia”, said Walter Seib, CEO HMSHost International.
