LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation Family Health opened its doors at Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln, Nebraska, and Battle Creek, Michigan, facilities on August 7 and August 14, respectively. The team member health centers are staffed by an on-site Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) and have already seen several Duncan Aviation employees and their families for scheduled appointments as well as drop-in care.
“We hope as news of the Duncan Aviation Family Health center spreads through our many information outlets and via word of mouth, more people will utilize the free preventative care services so we can detect serious health conditions through assessments and screenings early on, improving the overall health of our most valuable assets: our team members,” says Duncan Aviation Wellness Coordinator Tori Pallas.
The primary and preventative healthcare services are available to all Duncan Aviation team members, as well as spouses and dependents age six and older who are covered by a Duncan Aviation medical insurance plan. When Purchasing Agent Sue Craft woke up with a severe sore throat and it didn’t get better throughout the work day, she had two choices: try to get in to see her doctor or visit Duncan Aviation Family Health. She chose the latter out of convenience and was pleasantly surprised by the service.
Craft said she left her office, walked over and was met by the most professional people. She was the first unscheduled patient on the very first day, so the team had a few bugs to work through but saw her in a timely fashion. The next day, Craft said she woke up with a temperature, called Duncan Aviation Family Health, was prescribed an antibiotic that they called in to her local pharmacy.
“They even called later to see how I was feeling,” says Craft. “It reminded me of the small town doctor's office with that personal touch. I would highly recommend Duncan Aviation Family Health to everyone.”
Marathon Health, one of the nation’s leading providers of worksite healthcare, operates Duncan Aviation Family Health and provides care similar to that of a family physician. Services available include care for common illnesses or injuries, lab draws, routine physical exams and immunizations.
“In addition to sick care, people have access to a full range of health assessment, coaching and disease management services for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart problems or asthma. Appointments are set up in such a way to allow plenty of time for people to have quality time with the clinician, which is something that is often missing in today's medical community,” says Wellness and Safety Coordinator Leta VanderVeen. “Our goal at Duncan Aviation is to help our team members achieve optimum health, and we know that partnering with Marathon Health and opening these centers will help us accomplish this goal.”
Duncan Aviation Family Health provides team members with affordable and accessible high-quality primary care services and little or no wait time for appointments.
