MarketPlace Development Growth Provides Staff Advancement Opportunities

MarketPlace Development (MarketPlace), a leader in the airport concessions industry for over 20 years, announced several promotions that recognize the importance its employees play in the company’s growth and their commitment to providing unparalleled service to the firm’s airport partners and to the traveling public.

(July 9, 2013) MarketPlace Development (MarketPlace), a leader in the airport concessions industry for over 20 years, announced several promotions that recognize the importance its employees play in the company’s growth and their commitment to providing unparalleled service to the firm’s airport partners and to the traveling public.    These staff advancements, together with new hires, reflect MarketPlace’s new contracts with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority for managing the concessions program at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and the extension of its contract with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the development and management of the concessions at LaGuardia Airport – Terminal B.

Michael DiCosola has been made a partner and Executive Vice President of MarketPlace Development in recognition of his increased responsibility for the merchandising and leasing at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and for new business development.  Mr. DiCosola has been with MarketPlace since 2001 and has been intricately involved with the development, leasing and success of all of the company’s projects. 

Clarence LeJeune, who has been with MarketPlace for over 15 years, has been named Regional Vice President.  In this new role, the General Managers of MarketPlace Development projects at PHL, IAD, DCA report to him.   He has retained the position of President of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management, MarketPlace’s management company for PHL. Mr. LeJeune has been with MarketPlace since 1998 and has successfully led the PHL concessions development and management project since the opening of the BC Connector/Philadelphia Marketplace that year.           

Mel Hannah has been promoted to Vice President/General Manager of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management.  In this position, Mr. Hannah is responsible for managing the development and management of PHL’s concessions program, which now includes 183,000 square feet concessions throughout Terminals A through F and features more than 175 in-line stores, restaurants, and services, plus almost 40 specialty retail units. Mr. Hannah has been with MarketPlace for over 15 years, most recently as Manager of Retail Operations at PHL.

In addition, MarketPlace has grown its senior management staff with the addition of Kathy Viola, General Manager at DCA; Kierran 'KC”Casey, General Manager at IAD; and Susan Drury, Leasing Manager for IAD and DCA.   They join Lillian Tan, Vice President and General Manager at LGA, together with Mel Hannah at PHL, in leading their teams of dedicated on-site professionals in working with airports and tenants to enhance passenger satisfaction and to optimize retailer performance and revenue.

In other staff news, MarketPlace has hired Victoria Anastasia as their new Financial/Industry Analyst.   Ms. Anastasia joined MarketPlace from their affiliated company, New England Development, where she has worked since 2006.  Ms. Anastasia recently completed a Masters of Science in Finance from Brandeis University – International Business School.
