PHOENIX, AZ – Cutter Aviation, the premier FBO chain in the Southwest United States, will begin operations at its seventh FBO location on July 15th at Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in Southern California. A Grand Opening will follow later this summer. Cutter Aviation has entered into a long-term management agreement and joined forces with legendary aviation icon, Robert “Bob” Hoover, to operate Mr. Hoover’s FBO facility at the former Pentastar location conveniently located on the northwest corner of Van Nuys Airport.
“We have been working together for over a year to bring this new Cutter Aviation facility to Van Nuys,” said Will Cutter, President of Cutter Aviation. “Throughout our 85-year history, we have been involved in virtually every aspect of General Aviation and we are very excited to bring that experience, as well as our history of exceptional service, to our existing and future customers that utilize the Van Nuys Airport.”
Managing this facility for Cutter Aviation is Mr. Tom Magglos. Tom is an industry veteran with over 18 years of corporate aviation experience. Mr. Magglos is an ATP rated corporate pilot with over 8,700 hours of total time. Tom also has a rich history in FBO management as he managed Petersen Aviation at VNY for five years. “We’re very happy to have Tom managing this facility,” said Will Cutter. “His past experience running a world-class FBO, coupled with his corporate pilot background gives him a unique perspective to understand what our customers demand and how to best provide that service.”
Plans for a multi-million dollar renovation project to upgrade the FBO terminal, hangars, and other property improvements are in the works. As part of the renovation project, the Cutter facility at Van Nuys will be home to the new HondaJet Sales & Service Center and Piper Aircraft Sales Center for Southern California. As the world’s oldest family-owned and operated FBO chain, Cutter Aviation is excited to add Van Nuys as our ninth location.
