The IS-BAO Stage 1 Certification indicates that the Duncan Aviation Flight Department’s safety management system has been documented, approved and resourced.

LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation’s Flight Department recently earned an IS-BAO (International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations) Stage 1 Certification, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to safety, alongside an ARGUS Gold Certification.

The IS-BAO Stage 1 Certification indicates that the Duncan Aviation Flight Department’s safety management system has been documented, approved and resourced. The IS-BAO program was initiated to foster standardized, safe and highly professional aircraft operations. It is a voluntary standard that represents a code of best practices and is implemented at the time of the audit. Duncan Aviation is currently working to complete the Stage 2 Certification process.

To achieve an ARGUS rating, the aviation services company conducts in-depth research into numerous databases and other reputable sources. Historical information on the commercial certificate, pilots and aircraft serial numbers is compiled, processed and scored to determine whether operators meet or exceed the established ARGUS standards for equipment as well as crew experience and consistently provides up-to-date data. Duncan Aviation has joined those in ARGUS’ Gold Rating rank.

“These certifications express to our customers that we are leading the way in providing a safe and exceptional option to meet the travel needs of the public,” says Lou Gray, Director of Operations for Duncan Aviation’s Flight Department. “They also align well with Duncan Aviation’s safety-first mentality because neither of these certifications is required by the FAA at this time. We chose to obtain the certifications now to maintain our industry position as leaders.”
