New Leadership Elected at Annual General Assembly: Frederick J. Piccolo Elected Chair and Declan Collier Vice-Chair

At the 23rd Annual General Assembly, Frederick J. Piccolo, President and CEO of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority was elected Chairman of the Airports Council International World Governing Board by a unanimous vote of the members.
 

At the 23rd Annual General Assembly, Frederick J. Piccolo, President and CEO of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority was elected Chairman of the Airports Council International World Governing Board by a unanimous vote of the members.

Additionally, Declan Collier, Chief Executive of London City Airport, was elected Vice-Chair. Both Mr. Piccolo and Mr. Collier will begin their two-year leadership terms in January of 2014.

Mr. Piccolo is currently Vice Chair of the ACI World Governing Board and Mr. Collier is currently President of ACI Europe.

ACI World Director General Angela Gittens stated, "Today, we welcome two very qualified airport leaders whose industry expertise and knowledge will help further guide and steer ACI to provide its members with the tools, services and strategies to continue achieving operational excellence."

Mr. Piccolo expressed his appreciation following the vote. "As newly elected Chair of ACI, which is an accomplished leader in working for its membership, I will do my utmost to help ACI further grow its relationships with ICAO, IATA, CANSO, IFALPA and other stakeholder groups to ensure that ACI continues to be in a position to help airports further strengthen their operations and enhance the standing of airports on the world aviation stage."

Commenting on his election, new Vice-Chair Declan Collier expressed, "I am very pleased by the honour and cherish the opportunity to make even further contributions to ACI and its airport members worldwide by working with Rick and the Board to address the many challenges ahead and seize opportunities to further advance the position of airports."

Dr. Yiannis Paraschis, Chief Executive Officer, Athens International Airport will conclude his two-year term in January 2014 and will become Immediate Past Chair of the association.
