TIMCO Seats Delivered With First 787 for Thomson Airways

The delivery is the first of eight 787s Thomson has on order, and the first to be delivered to a UK airline.

Greensboro, North Carolina, June 07, 2013 ––TIMCO Aerosystems (“TIMCO”), part of TIMCO Aviation Services, announced that its FeatherWeight™ economy and premium economy seats are installed on the first 787 aircraft that was delivered to Thomson Airways (“Thomson”), part of TUI Travel PLC. The delivery is the first of eight 787s Thomson has on order, and the first to be delivered to a UK airline. TIMCO has provided 11 shipsets of seats over the last six months for multiple 787 customers, with more scheduled.

The FeatherWeight™ seats are designed to save operators fuel cost through innovative engineering and the use of lighter materials. Additionally, the seats have been designed to offer passengers comfort on long haul flights and amenities such as enhanced in-flight entertainment on large screens.

The first Thomson 787 is expected to enter long-haul service in early July.
