Becker Avionics' DVCS6100 Digital Audio System was recently selected as part of a larger C-130 Hercules Avionics Modernization Program (AMP). The Intercom System (ICS) modernization and avionics upgrade was selected by an undisclosed military customer, which will be managed in conjunction with a prime aircraft integration company.
The project replaces the aging aircraft ICS system and wiring with the modern state-of-the-art digital audio management system, the DVCS6100. The Becker Avionics DVCS6100 digital audio and intercom system provides improved audio quality and clarity for the C-130/L-382 aircraft, as well as much greater system functionality and flexibility for the aircraft operator. Additionally, the new system offers improved reliability and reduced weight and wiring. The Becker DVCS6100 package installed in the C-130 consists of Audio Control Units (ACU) for Pilot, Copilot, Flight Engineer, Flight Instructor, a Navigators Console, along with several main cabin stations.
The Becker DVCS6100 was chosen by the customer due to its unique ability to effectively manage and control multiple audio sources in the aircraft. Becker's DVCS, with its software configurable profiles, provides the flexibility to specifically customize the system to meet the demanding operational requirements of C-130/L-382 aircraft.
