The contract calls for a two phased implementation process, with the first to be completed and operational by August 2013 and the second slated for early 2014.

Annapolis, Maryland, USA, May 23, 2013 — ARINC today announced that Saskatoon Airport has chosen vMUSE Enterprise™ for its cloud-based common use check-in solution. Saskatoon will use vMUSE to support five double-gate positions at the airport. The contract calls for a two phased implementation process, with the first to be completed and operational by August 2013 and the second slated for early 2014.

ARINC’s vMUSE Enterprise moves software functions that were formerly on the airport user's workstation into ‘virtual machines’ and the high resilience of the ARINC data centre provides a secure solution for mission-critical applications. vMUSE Enterprise significantly reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for on-site server hardware and core rooms. In addition to the cost savings, Saskatoon selected vMUSE Enterprise because of the airport’s ability to self-maintain the ARINC common use platform.

“We chose ARINC because of the flexibility and proven stability of the vMUSE Enterprise platform,” said Lory Sproxton, Manager Airport Development at Saskatoon Airport. “vMUSE allows us to reduce costs as well as better utilize the gates we are building. It is a win-win situation for both the airport and our passengers.”

“The vMUSE Enterprise platform is ideal for small and mid-sized airports that have the same desire to provide their customers with the benefits of common use as larger airports do,” said Mike Picco, Vice President of ARINC’s Airports Systems Division. “vMUSE is a great solution for Saskatoon Airport.”

ARINC has been helping Canadian airports get the most out of their operations for decades. The Saskatoon vMUSE Enterprise agreement represents the third recent installation and is one of 16 total ARINC sites in Canada overall. “We are excited to be the leading provider of advanced passenger processing, baggage handling and security systems and so much more to the Canadian market,” notes Picco.
