    ST. LOUIS, May 10, 2013 – Victor Technologies has announced the 100th anniversary of its Victor brand of cutting and gas control equipment. “As we begin Victor’s 100 year anniversary, it is important to celebrate our shared history of authenticity, innovation and a deep connection to the end user,” says Martin Quinn, CEO, Victor Technologies. The complete Victor brand line-up consists of:

    • Victor oxy-fuel and gas control equipment
    • Victor Thermal Dynamics, which encompasses manual and automated
      plasma cutting systems
    • Victor TurboTorch, which includes air-fuel products for brazing and soldering
    • Victor Arcair, which represents manual and automated gouging systems

    Victor’s founder, L.W. Stettner, suffered the loss of an eye in a welding accident and set out to design and build safer products for cutting and welding. Equipment was manufactured to exacting standards, and Stettner’s designs resulted in numerous industry firsts in welding. For example, Victor cutting and welding torches were assembled with screws, not soldered. The patented assembly method provided a stronger connection between components in the event of overheating.
