CHICAGO, May 9, 2013 - The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) congratulates the management team and employees of American Airlines (AA) at O'Hare International Airport on winning the airline's "Customer Cup" award for the first quarter 2013.

The American Airlines Customer Cup is an internal award that recognizes airport employees in AA's network when the service they provided is improved as measured by quarterly customer survey results.

The Chicago AA Team improved in four customer experience areas: aircraft cleanliness; the condition of aircraft interior; flight attendants referring to passengers by name; and passengers receiving a personal thank you for flying AA. The AA Chicago team competes with employees at American's other major hubs in Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. The Customer Cup presentation and employee celebration was held at O'Hare on May 8.

"I want to congratulate Franco Tedeschi, American Airlines Vice President - Chicago, and his outstanding team for receiving this award," said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. "I also thank American Airlines for its commitment to Chicago and for sharing our mission to provide the very best service to travelers who fly through Chicago's global gateway, O'Hare International Airport. We look forward to our continued collaboration with American and our other airline partners to make Chicago's airports 'first-class' destinations."
