Calgary Airport Authority Signs 10 Year Contract Extension with ARINC

The contract extension includes ARINC’s vMUSE, BagLink, Common Use Self Service (CUSS) and Local Departure Control System (L-DCS) systems.

Annapolis, Maryland, May 1, 2013—ARINC’s Airport Systems Division today announced that the Calgary Airport Authority has agreed to extend its existing contract for ARINC’s Common Use Passenger Processing (CUPPS) systems through 2022. As part of the contract, ARINC’s wholly owned subsidiary, ARINC Managed Services (AMS), LLC has been selected to perform on-site maintenance for the airport.

The contract extension includes ARINC’s vMUSE, BagLink, Common Use Self Service (CUSS) and Local Departure Control System (L-DCS) systems. As part of the agreement, all of the airport’s current systems are being updated to reflect the latest standards, including an upgrade of vMUSE to the current IATA CUPPS Standard version 1.3.

The ARINC systems provide the common use foundation for the entire airport, including the ability to extend into the new International Terminal, currently under construction. The new terminal, part of a major airport expansion, will go into operation in 2015 and will nearly double the size of the airport’s facilities, enabling it to meet increased demand for its services.

“Calgary has been an ARINC customer for the past 10 years and we are looking forward to the next 10 years,” said Paul Lawrence, Director, Information Technologies & Telecommunications at YYC. “Using the ARINC platform is helping us meet our goal of providing our customers with the most positive travel experience possible.”

“Calgary Airport has been a valued ARINC customer for over 10 years,” said Mike Picco, Vice President of ARINC’s Airports Systems Division. “We very much look forward to extending and growing our partnership through the next decade as we look to keep Calgary at the forefront of passenger processing technologies. ARINC’s technology will enable YYC to meet not only today’s passenger travel requirements, but also those of the future.”
