Knighted on the British Isles: the renowned U.K.-based magazine Business Destinations has bestowed a Service Award to Frankfurt Airport as the best European airport for business travelers. The jury gave it especially good marks for excellent service and fast transfers: for instance, thanks to the “fast lanes” that have been created at the security checkpoints in Frankfurt to help passengers with short transfer times make their connecting flights. The terminals are also served by e-shuttles that let passengers get to their gate quickly and comfortably. Business travelers in the transit zones can take a shower or enyoy a relaxing massage or a reflexology treatment. Special extra-wide business parking spaces are available in the terminal parking structures within a short walk of the check-in counters. The airport itself is also an ideal meeting place, offering many possibilities for conferences and get-togethers. Hotels of different categories are located right on the airport premises.

The airport’s flight network also impressed the jury of Business Destinations. No matter whether passengers are headed for Calgary, Guangzhou, Minsk, or Mumbai, they can fly straight there from Frankfurt Airport. Nearly all of Europe’s capitals can be reached within three hours. And it’s only 12 hours nonstop to Singapore, Johannesburg, or Los Angeles. Travelers can take off from Frankfurt to 295 destinations in 107 countries.

What’s more, no other European airport is as well-connected on the ground as Frankfurt. It is located right at Germany’s most important motorway junction, the Frankfurt Interchange. And no fewer than two train stations link the airport to the surrounding region and the high-speed rail network of Deutsche Bahn (German Rail). A total of 170 ICE trains stop daily at Frankfurt Airport. It takes only an hour to get to Cologne or Stuttgart.

To optimize its service, two years ago Frankfurt Airport launched a program called “Great to have you here!” Since then, many improvements have made it even easier and more pleasant to depart from and change planes at Germany’s largest airport. It has now been rewarded for its efforts with the accolade from Business Destinations.
