Ludwigshafen, April 24, 2013 – ISOLITE is investing 1.5 million euros in the expansion of its US-based production and sales location in Greenville, South Carolina. Because of the increasing international and cross-industrial demand for thermal and acoustic insulation solutions, the existing facility, inaugurated in May 2012, has been further expanded. The enlargement of the plant by 1,500 square meters provides additional capacities for manufacturing and for the international sales department. The new facilities have been inaugurated end of March 2013.
“More stringent environmental standards present new challenges for automakers and manufacturers of large engines and turbines,” explains Matthias Kroll, Managing Director of the ISOLITE Group. “Our state-of-the-art insulation solutions not only help to reduce harmful emissions, but contribute greatly to the reduction of noise, too. With the expansion of our location in the United States, we are able to optimally support our customers on-site and react immediately to an increasing demand.”
ISOLITE Inc. is based in Greenville and is a subsidiary of the ISOLITE GmbH. After completion of the expansion, the location will have a total floor space of 2,500 square meters, consisting of production areas and offices for international distribution. The product portfolio covers system solutions for the thermal and acoustic high-temperature insulation of motor vehicles as well as large engines and turbines. The high-performance insulation materials are also used in the fields of mechanical engineering and plant manufacture and can withstand temperatures of up to 1,600 degrees Celsius, depending on the field of application. Automated welding robots provide for reliable and fast production of the components and assure compliance with the highest quality standards.
ISOLITE Inc. currently supplies numerous German car manufacturers located in Northern America. The first North American OEM will follow soon. In 2014, the company plans the production of 100,000 insulation systems at its plant in Greenville. In the following year, the production volume is to be increased by a further 50 percent. In addition to the automotive market, the company also supplies customers from the industry and aviation sectors.
