Jobs and Economic Growth Opportunities in Pennsylvania and North Carolina

(Cary, NC – April 11, 2012) – LORD Corporation, a leader in the management of vibration, noise and motion control, will be providing engine mounts for the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft while supporting job and economic growth in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

As part of the supplier network with the U. S. Air Force under its recently awarded Light Air Support (LAS) contract, LORD has been selected to supply engine mounts on the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano aircraft. The U.S. Air Force recently announced the selection of Sierra Nevada Corporation to supply the aircraft for use by the Afghanistan National Army Air Corps and other future customers. The aircraft will be used for conducting flight training, aerial reconnaissance and light air support operations and is a key element of U.S. government partner-building efforts in Afghanistan and other partner nations.

“Employees here at LORD are proud to be a supplier for Super Tucano aircraft and are excited to start delivering engine mounts for this important U.S. Air Force program,” said Steve Meyer, Director, Aerospace and Defense.

According to Embraer, the A-29 Super Tucano will be built in Jacksonville, Fla by U.S. workers and with more than 88 percent of parts supplied by U.S. companies that qualify under the Buy America Act. Aircraft training will be provided in Clovis, N.M.  LORD Corporation is among 100 additional U.S. suppliers in 20 states that will provide parts or services for the LAS program.  At least 1,200 U.S. jobs will be supported through this contract.
