It provides tremendous production time savings opportunities as it can double as either a traditional sanding surfacer or as a primer that offers great flexibility.

Andover, Kan. A new Urethane Primer and Sanding Surfacer (CM0481827) has been introduced by Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings. It provides tremendous production time savings opportunities as it can double as either a traditional sanding surfacer or as a primer that offers great flexibility. MROs and paint shops can now use one product for two purposes and will see increased benefits because it dries twice as fast as traditional epoxy surfacer technology.

This latest primer/surfacer is a high performance, corrosion inhibitive urethane primer that contains no hexavalent chromium. Offering outstanding sandability, it meets lower VOC levels versus comparable aerospace MRO products while still providing a very high square-foot of coverage per gallon.

Intended for use on all types of aircraft, this primer/surfacer product has outstanding recoat/intercoat adhesion with all Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings topcoat systems and provides excellent gloss holdout. It also provides corrosion protection over Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings Wash Primer (CM0484646) without the use of hazardous chromates.
