WASHINGTON, DC, April 8, 2013—The Regional Airline Association (RAA) is proud to welcome its newest member, Mesa Air Group, Inc. of Phoenix. Growing the association is one of the RAA’s top priorities and, with Mesa’s membership, the RAA now represents 27 airlines, which operate half of the US commercial flights.
“Mesa joining the RAA demonstrates the powerful voice our association offers our members and our industry,” notes RAA Chairman Dan Garton, American Eagle Airlines Inc. President and CEO. “Our strong membership base and our Washington, DC-based staff helps protect and communicate regional airline interests to government agencies and key stakeholders on a daily basis. On behalf of all RAA members, we welcome Mesa, and we look forward to working with them to represent our industry before these important audiences.”
The Mesa Air Group team currently numbers 1800 employees with a fleet of 65 aircraft (5 CRJ200s, 20 CRJ700s and 40 CRJ900s) performing more than 465 daily departures to 96 cities, in 37 states, Canada and Mexico. “With our company built on valued partnerships with United Airlines and US Airways, in addition to our own independent low cost airline go! in Hawaii, we look forward to participating in RAA activities and appreciate the warm welcome,” says Mesa Air Group Chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein.
