AirIT Announces That Southwest Airlines Has Gone Live On The AirIT EASE™ Virtualized Shared Use Platform At The Branson Airport

March 19, 2013, Orlando, FL – AirIT, the leading provider of innovative information technology products and services to the air transportation industry, today announces the successful implementation and integration of AirIT’s shared use system, EASE™ (Extended Airline System Environment), for Southwest Airlines at the Branson Airport (BKG).

Southwest Airlines is now operational and the airport is handling their passenger processing demands on AirIT’s EASE™ virtualized platform. EASE™ is a cornerstone of AirIT’s passenger processing systems platform which allows airlines to extend their applications onto the airport's shared network environment.

Betros Wakim, AirIT President and CEO states, “Airports that perform the necessary due diligence on common use options quickly realize that airlines have an overwhelming preference to use their own software, not some feature-limited variant that previously was the norm in legacy common-use systems. In Branson, we are extremely pleased to facilitate the technology interface that allows Southwest Airlines to operate and enhance service options to this growing vacation destination.”

“The Branson Airport is thrilled about Southwest Airlines’ arrival in Branson, Missouri. Southwest will be bringing low fares, great customer service, and red-bellied 737s to Branson. We are looking forward to serving the community and offering more new destinations to Branson customers.  Southwest has the ability to bring in passengers that never had the ability to fly to Branson in the past,” said Jeff Bourk, Executive Director of Branson Airport.

AirIT’s EASE™ platform can be implemented at any airport, regardless of size, at a cost far below that of traditional common use systems. EASE™ is currently operational at 26 airports in North America. AirIT’s EASE™ was deployed in Branson Airport in 2009 along with its Airport Operational Database, Resource Management System, Flight Information Display System, Common Use Self Service kiosks, and PROPworks® Property and Revenue Management System.
