Wilmington Air Park officials have confirmed that Air Transport International Inc. (ATI), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group Inc. (ATSG), will bring as many as 80 airline maintenance and flight operations positions from other states to the Wilmington Air Park. The consolidation will see ATI which specializes in transporting cargo worldwide; occupy 13,550 square feet of office space at the main Administration Building at the park.

“We are pleased to see ATI join the Wilmington Air Park community. The consolidation of ATSG operations is a win-win for both the company and the community,” said Kevin Carver, Executive Director of the Wilmington Air Park.

As well as ATSG’s 800 employees already headquartered at Wilmington Air Park, Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services, another subsidiary of ATSG, began construction of a 100,000-square feet maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangar back in January. The project represents a 50 percent expansion in MRO hangar capacity. This expansion is anticipated to create 259 new jobs.

Real estate specialist Jones Lang LaSalle brokered the deal on behalf of the Air Park’s ownership, The Clinton County Port Authority. “The Wilmington Air Park is gathering great interest from new and potential tenants,” said David Lotterer, Senior Associate with Jones Lang LaSalle. “The main Administration building is almost entirely occupied but we have other opportunities at the site including several buildings that are currently undergoing renovations.”

“With the addition of new developments and tenants at the site, these are just a couple of examples of growing employment at the Air Park. In 2012, Cargill leased 7,500-square-feet of office space and brought 16 professional positions to the Air Park. JMCC Engineering and Training Services is doubling their space and also adding employees,” said Kevin Carver. “2013 looks promising. We have seen a marked increase in proposal requests from potential tenants.”
