CanWest Component Services Attending Heli-Expo in Las Vegas

Vancouver, BC - CanWest Component Services Inc's (www.canwest components.com) President and Director of Maintenance, Tom Jackson announces he and key members of the CanWest team will be in attendance at Heli-Expo 2013 in Las Vegas (booth C2029-Freedom Aero).  

"2012 was a pivotal year for CanWest Component Services,'' says Jackson. "In order to enhance our ability to provide cost-effective and reliable maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to the global marketplace; we underwent a comprehensive strategic review and from there, went into planning mode to address areas where we saw opportunity to improve productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. Now, in 2013, we put those plans into motion.''  

Jackson explains that in order to accommodate the growing demand for CanWest's comprehensive mix of services offered on the Sikorsky S61 and S76; Eurocopter AS350 and AS355 models, the McDonnell Douglas MD500 and a variety of Bell Helicopter medium platforms, he is actively working to increase capacity and workflow at CanWest Component Services' British Columbia-based MRO facility.   

Services provided by CanWest include:

dynamic components, landing gear and wheel assemblies, rotor heads, transmissions and gearboxes, avionics instrumentation (including glass cockpit integrations and installations) and electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, flight controls, cargo hooks, completions, structures (metal and composites), scheduled airframe inspections and a variety of other services.

"In addition to addressing how we operate from an MRO perspective; we are also making substantial investments in equipment and tooling for the aircraft models that we specialize on. As well, we are thrilled to announce that as we have been at capacity for practically all of 2012, in May 2013 we begin expansion of our facility by an additional 15,000 square feet.   

"This expansion will nearly double our current hangar space and therefore provide us with capacity to better manage the increasing workload being requested of us by operators while also maintaining.'' Jackson references that this activity will also provide increased operational flexibility that will enhance the ongoing delivery of in-field support; a service for which CanWest has developed a best-in-class reputation with operators around the globe.
