Honolulu, HI (February 21, 2013) - Aloha Air Cargo, www.AlohaAirCargo.com, Hawaii's largest and preferred air freight carrier, announced today the appointment of Captain John Floyd as Director of Safety. Floyd brings a wealth of aviation experience, having been a pilot for the company's predecessor, Aloha Airlines, for over 22 years.
As Director of Safety, Floyd will focus on the implementation of company-wide safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. His key responsibilities include developing programs for work site safety practices, oversight of facilities to detect and minimize potential accident and health hazards, and the maintenance of FAA Safety Management Systems (SMS) at Aloha.

Prior to joining Aloha's upper management team, Floyd was employed by Island Air as manager of pilot and dispatcher training where he was responsible for curriculum development, and the maintenance of flight operations, crew operating, and training manuals. Most recently he was a flight operations B737 ground instructor for Aloha Air Cargo.
Floyd holds a bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. When time permits, he enjoys painting professionally - producing Hawaii fine art, primarily seascapes and landscapes in oil medium.
