20 February 2013, Abu Dhabi: AMMROC (Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Center) L.L.C., a joint venture between Mubadala Aerospace, Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin, today announced the amendment of their maintenance service provider agreement with the UAE Armed Forces General Headquarters (GHQ). The original agreement, signed in October 2011, associated with maintenance, repair and overhaul requirements, initially valued at AED 1.15 billion, allowed for AMMROC to provide services to support the fixed and rotary aircraft of UAE Armed Forces GHQ.
The announcement by AMMROC, one of Mubadala’s defense-related companies, took place during the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2013 which takes place 17th - 21st February at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
This amendment to the existing agreement expands the scope of the existing contract with additional platforms in which AMMROC will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to the UAE Air Force. The amendment makes AMMROC the primary provider of MRO services and support to the UAE Air Force, and is valued at AED 663 million.

The original agreement is for an initial period of two years, after which time the GHQ anticipates entering into a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) arrangement with AMMROC – a paradigm shift for supplying military aviation MRO services in the UAE – facilitating efficiency improvements in delivering such services.
AMMROC is one of seven Mubadala companies committed to supporting the UAE Armed Forces, ensuring they have immediate access to the best maintained equipment, and world class technical and communications services.
Based in Abu Dhabi, AMMROC will continue to maintain an on-site presence at UAE Armed Forces bases in order to best address needs.
