Norfolk International Airport Reports on January 2013 Activity

Norfolk International Airport (ORF) reported a 1.84 percent increase in passenger activity for the month of January 2013 with 214,037 passengers.

NORFOLK, Va. – (February 12, 2013) – Norfolk International Airport (ORF) reported a 1.84 percent increase in passenger activity for the month of January 2013 with 214,037 passengers.  This figure compares to a January 2012 passenger count of 210,173.  

In other activity, 5,528,553 pounds of cargo were shipped in and out of the airport during January 2013. This represents a 9 percent increase over January 2012, which saw 5,072,129 pounds of cargo shipped.  

The above-mentioned figures are a reflection of the service by the following airlines:  American, Delta, Southwest, United, US Airways and their regional airline partners.  Cargo carriers include Federal Express, Mountain Air Cargo and UPS. 

Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is the major airport serving Coastal Virginia and Northeast North Carolina with 75 daily departures provided by American, Delta, Southwest, United, US Airways and their regional airline partners.  According to the FAA, ORF is ranked as the 68th largest primary airport in the United States with nearly 3.3 million scheduled passengers served in 2012.
