Rogue Valley International – Medford Airport Receives National Partnership Award

The award was presented to Bern Case, Airport Director, by Mike Irwin the TSA Federal Security Director for the State of Oregon.

Medford, OR – February 13, 2013 – The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport received a prestigious National Partnership Award today from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This award is in acknowledgment of the airport’s proactive approach to security and support of the Transportation Security Officer’s who contribute daily to the safety and security of the flying public. The award was presented to Bern Case, Airport Director, by Mike Irwin the TSA Federal Security Director for the State of Oregon, at this morning’s Jackson County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting.

The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport was nominated along with other airports across the nation. This is the only award that the TSA issues, outside of recognizing its own staff, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of industry partners to maintain safe and secure transportation systems.

In a letter received from John Pistole, Administrator for the Transportation Security Administration, the airport is being recognized as, “…a staunch supporter of our officers and staff at the Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport. The proactive response to security incidents and the camaraderie you share with our TSA team in Medford is greatly appreciated.”

Bern Case accepted the award on behalf of the airport and took the opportunity to acknowledge the support of his staff stating, “This is not something that is accomplished by one person, but takes a team of committed staff. I have a fantastic group of individuals and on their behalf am honored to accept this award.”
