DETAILS: Airports Council International—North America (ACI-NA) will hold a webinar for reporters on Tuesday, January 29, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. EST on the detailed results of ACI-NA’s 2013 Capital Needs Survey.

The study is comprehensive, focusing on all airport projects, not just those that are eligible for federal grants under the Airport Improvement Program (AIP).  The ACI-NA 2011 Capital Needs study indicates that airports, including both commercial and general aviation airports, have $71.3 billion in total projects that are considered essential by the airport and airport users.  Information on the specific types of projects for all airports by hub size for 2013 – 2017 will be provided in the webinar.

Texas, California and Florida are the three states with the greatest airport capital needs.  There are eight airports (Philadelphia International Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and Salt Lake City  International Airport) with capital needs exceeding $1.5 billion during 2013 – 2017.  Information on the projects at these airports and others with capital needs exceeding $1 billion will also be provided.
