Cambridge Airport, UK, is participating at NBAA’s 24th Annual Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in San Antonio, Texas, USA from January 22nd to 25th (Stand 122).  In a unique promotion, the leading airport for the East of England, is offering free landings to all operators who purchase a fuel load of between 5,000 and 10,000 litres. For operators purchasing fuel uplifts of 10,001 litres or above, further heavy discounting will be offered. The promotion is running alongside the Show and will remain valid for any relevant landing through to the end of the year.

ExecuJet Europe is also celebrating its first anniversary of the company’s UK FBO at Cambridge Airport this month.  During a successful first year, the facility has expanded to offer a range of services to business passengers and has seen an increase in aircraft movements.

The Cambridge FBO launched the UK’s first free pet travel service in June 2012 after it was approved by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) for the UK's Pet Travel Scheme (PETS). The facility extended its line maintenance services and opening hours during the London Olympic period, which saw a 30% increase in handlings.

John Brutnell, General Manager of ExecuJet UK, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our first anniversary at Cambridge Airport, our first full service FBO in the UK. We are pleased with the high standards of service we have provided over the past 12 months. Improvements such as the introduction of PETS last year has proved popular with clients and we have travellers who regularly use this service.  We look forward to introducing further expanded services in the coming year.”

Visiting aircraft at Cambridge have included long range types such as the Bombardier Global Express, Dassault Falcon 900LX and Gulfstream V. In addition, a McDonnell Douglas MD-87, the largest aircraft in ExecuJet Europe’s managed fleet, is based there.

ExecuJet’s Cambridge FBO provides a full range of services including FBO, charter, maintenance and aircraft management.  The state-of-the art FBO facility includes executive passenger lounges, boardroom facilities and dedicated crew facilities. Private airside vehicle access for executive cars facilitates easy access to business jets and helicopter charters.

Cambridge  – the UK’s fastest growing city

Recently unveiled investment initiatives at Cambridge Airport support the fact that Cambridge is the UK’s fastest growing city with a renowned prolific economy in life science.  Among US blue chip companies opening in Cambridge include Microsoft Research.  “Cambridge is home to many US-owned business concentrations and some 25,000 American nationals already reside in our region,” commented David Surley, Head of Business Development, who is representing the airport in San Antonio this week.

Cambridge Airport is adept at handling major aviation demand for sporting events (as demonstrated during the London Olympics last summer)  and it has just been confirmed that in May 2014 the city will host one of the world’s famous Tour de France cycle race stages.

Just over an hour from central London by road or 20 minutes by helicopter, US business aviation travellers using Cambridge Airport benefit with good slot availability.  The airport is also 10 miles north of typically busy London airspace.   It boasts a large 1,965m runway with full ATC and airport services (fire and ATC to CAT 7 level) enabling acceptance of up to B757/Airbus A319/A320 sized aircraft.

Cambridge Airport is part of the Marshall Group of Companies, a private family business, owned and managed by the Marshall family. The business was founded in Cambridge in 1909, and entered aviation in 1929. The Marshall Group activities include Cambridge Airport, charter operator Marshall Executive Aviation, Marshall Aerospace, focused on engineering, retrofit and technology and Marshall Business Aviation and this division’s newly launched JETability brand.

Cambridge Airport primarily targets the east of England market with a strong focus on Cambridge and its business, academic and industrial communities. It is also a strong provider to the equine community as it is just 10 miles from Newmarket and offers regular services for the transportation of horses.
