Bruce's Custom Covers Partners With AirCam On Fitted Aircraft Covers

Jan. 14, 2013
Bruce's will manufacture a custom-designed covering system and AirCam will exclusively provide sales and distribution of protective covering products for AirCam aircraft.

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA, JANUARY 14, 2013 – Bruce’s Custom Covers announced today its partnership with AirCam, a Lockwood Aviation company. The two companies have collaborated on the manufacture and distribution of custom fitted aircraft covers. Bruce’s will manufacture a custom-designed covering system and AirCam will exclusively provide sales and distribution of protective covering products for AirCam aircraft.

The AirCam from Lockwood Aircraft is a favorite among amateur airplane kits around the world. The AirCam, and its single-engine sibling Super Drifter, kits offer the ability to fly low and slow with cruising speeds between 50–100 mph. The aircraft provide a unique flying experience allowing pilot and passenger to fully enjoy panoramic views. The open cockpit design makes a cover especially practical.

Representatives of both companies met at Aviation Summit 2012, subsequently forming a collaboration that would enhance the presence of the two small but familiar companies in the general aviation market. Under the agreement Bruce’s is responsible for design and fabrication, while AirCam will handle sales orders and distribution. A custom covering system is available to protect any part of the airplane. AirCam aircraft are often found in remote flying areas such as private ranches, remote islands, and anywhere scenic vistas and roaming wildlife may be present. A protective cover lends itself well to these remote flying locations, and can be used to protect fabric, metal and composite aircraft.

Enhancements to a previous AirCam cover design were made by Bruce’s to better suit both AirCam aircraft and operator. The Canopy cover now extends over the aft baggage compartment keeping it sealed and dry. Other enhancements include Bruce’s ever-evolving methodology and use of materials. With these improvements, the price of the cover will remain the same. A canopy/nose cover sells for $824.95. Company representatives will be exhibiting the AirCam at U.S. Aviation Expo in Sebring, FL, from January 17–20th. Participants are encouraged to visit the Lockwood/AirCam display to inquire about custom fitted aircraft covers and the unique features of the AirCam.
