ASIG®, an industry leader in aviation services, announced today that it has been selected by American Airlines to provide a variety of aviation fuel and ground handling services at six airports within the United States. These agreements represent a major outsourcing of airside services by American Airlines.

ASIG is American Airlines’ new aircraft refueling provider at five airports including one of their main hubs at Chicago O’Hare International (ORD), where ASIG is already fueling their regional flights. The other four airports are Nashville International (BNA), Detroit Metro (DTW), San Diego International (SAN) and San Francisco International (SFO). Both BNA and DTW also include the refueling of American’s regional flights. In total, ASIG is providing aircraft refueling services to 250 flights per day at these airports. In addition, American Airlines has extended ASIG’s current refueling contracts at 24 airports for an additional 5 years, through 2017.

Separately, ASIG was also awarded a contract from American Airlines for ground handling, cabin cleaning and ground equipment maintenance services at Denver International Airport (DEN). This marks the first ground handling contract award that ASIG has received from American Airlines. ASIG is handling 21 daily flights for American at Denver. At BNA, ASIG is now managing and operating American Airlines’ jet fuel facility. The storage facility serves all carriers operating out of BNA.

Tim Ramsey, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, stated, “We are delighted to be selected as American Airlines’ partner in these key cities. ASIG has enjoyed a long relationship with American and we understand their need to have high quality service for these critical airline functions. We look forward to supporting the carrier’s needs across our network in a safe and timely manner.” With these additional cities, ASIG is providing a variety of services to over 300,000 American Airlines flights annually at 28 airports across the U.S.
