LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation welcomed 200 students, parents, counselors and teachers to its aviation career day, Adjust Your Altitude, on October 3. The program educated, inspired and ignited students’ passion for the aviation industry.

Adjust Your Altitude gave high school students from Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas the opportunity to meet with education and aviation exhibitors, tour Duncan Aviation’s campus and participate in hands-on activities as they learned about working in the industry. Chariman Todd Duncan addressed the attendees and awarded $3,000 in scholarship giveaways.

“We were hoping to educate students about all of the unique career opportunities in aviation and pique their interest in the industry. Based on the overwhelmingly positive response we received, we met and exceeded that goal,” said Felicia Nichelson, coordinator of the Duncan Aviation career day planning committee.

Students met with vendors to network, ask questions, gather information and test their aircraft maintenance skills. Local representatives from 24 different vendors representing colleges and universities, tech schools, aviation exhibitors, aviation media, government agencies and military organizations attended.

More than 80 Duncan Aviation team members volunteered and contributed to the success of the day’s events.
